Basic Setup & User Guide

Install The Genie

Visit the Web site of the Distributor who referred you to the MyShoppingGenie.

Click on the Get The Free App button.

Select either "Version 4.0 Classic" or "Version 4.0 Enhanced".

Windows XP users must choose "Version 4.0 Classic".

Windows Vista or Windows 7 users may choose either "Version 4.0 Classic" or  "Version 4.0 Enhanced".

Choose Run or Save.

Follow the wizard to complete the installation.

Enter Your City And State

After downloading and installing the Genie, do a search using any major search engine such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing. The Genie will appear.

Select Options.

Enter your City, State and click Save Changes.

This is a one-time setup process.

Once you enter your city and state, you can then use the Genie to find businesses and services in and near your local city using the Google Maps feature located on the Genie interface called Maps.

Choose Window Style

If you installed the Genie Version 4.0. Enhanced Version, you may choose between the Classic View or the Window View.

By default, the Classic View is the style that appears. To switch to the Window View, click on the Window Style Arrow.

Once the Window View is selected, the Genie will appear in an exciting new interface.

Note: You can switch back to the Classic View by selecting the Window Style Arrow again.

Using The Compare Feature

The Genie instantly finds the best deals and lowest prices on millions of products through major online retailer and auction sites such as Amazon, Costco, Walmart, eBay, and Buy.com. But it also has an exciting feature called Compare that uses sites such as PayLess Search, Shopping.com, BizRate, Google Product Search, DealTime, and PriceGrabber to instantly find the lowest prices by comparing products, product reviews and merchant deals from hundreds of thousands of top online merchants.

There are two main ways to use the Compare feature.

1. Select Compare, Choose Sites, And Click Go!

Do a search using any major search engine such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

When the Genie appears, select Compare.

Check or Uncheck the Compare Engines you would like to view and then select Go.

Each Compare Engine you selected now opens in separate tabs in your browser.

Choose a tab (such as BizRate) and begin comparison shopping by clicking on the links.

2. Preview A Compare Site, And Click Go Or Select!

Do a search using any major search engine such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

When the Genie appears, turn on the Preview Window by clicking the check box next to the binoculars.

Hover your mouse cursor over the Compare button.

The Preview Window will appear.

Select the Arrow to flip from one page to another.

Preview Window Tips.

• Visit site directly - select Go Button.
  
• Visit compare engines - click Select.
  
  Note: The content inside the preview window is live, however, to access it, you must either select the Go Button or Select Button. Clicking directly inside of the preview window will not take you to the site.
  
  
• Close preview window - select X in upper right corner or click Close Button.
• Increase the size of the preview window - select Magnifying Glass with Plus Sign in upper right corner.
• Decrease the size of the preview window - select Magnifying Glass with Minus Sign in upper right corner.
• Keep Preview Window Open when mousing off of the window - select Push Pin in upper right corner.
• Close Preview Window when mousing off of the window - select Push Pin in upper right corner.
